Privacy Policy - MISS DATA

Last updated: September 5th, 2025

Who we are
MISS DATA S.C. (“we,” “our,” “us”) is a research and data-analysis organization based in Mexico. Our website is https://missdata.org.mx. Contact: info@missdata.org.mx .

What we do
We provide research, analytics, and data-management services for clients and also conduct non-profit research projects. Some projects may process information gathered from public online sources (e.g., public Facebook Pages) in compliance with the platforms’ terms and applicable law.

Information we collect

  • Website visitors: IP address, device/browser data, pages viewed, referrers, and cookies/similar technologies.

  • Clients, partners & suppliers: name, business contact details, role/title, billing info, communications.

  • Research data: datasets provided by clients or obtained from public sources (e.g., public social media posts, public webpages, open datasets). We do not collect non-public social content unless there is a lawful basis and explicit authorization.

  • Support & forms: the content you send us (messages, attachments). Community partners may submit venue Page URLs to include in our analyses.

How we use information (purposes & legal bases)

  • Deliver and improve our services; operate our website and projects (contract / legitimate interests).

  • Develop methodologies, quality assurance, and security (legitimate interests).

  • Compliance with legal/tax obligations.

  • With consent where required (e.g., newsletters, optional cookies).

Public social media content
For certain projects, we may process public posts from Facebook Pages to identify events/performances and related public metadata. We access such information only as allowed by Meta’s Platform Policies and features such as Page Public Content Access (PPCA). We do not claim control over or endorsement of the original content.

What we publish
We publish aggregated statistics on our public maps, along with attribution and a permalink to the original public Page post. We do not re-host third-party images or videos from the platforms and we avoid publishing full API payloads or entire post texts.

Sharing and disclosure

  • Service providers (processors): hosting, analytics, security, email, storage, or code repositories under data-processing terms. In particular, we use GitHub, Inc. (github.com) to host a private repository for code/work artifacts and a public repository for aggregated results. We do not store user access tokens or App Secrets in repositories, and we avoid logging tokens.

  • Clients/project stakeholders where necessary for the project scope.

  • Authorities or legal requests where required by law.
We do not sell personal information.

International transfers
Data may be stored or processed outside your country. Where required, we apply appropriate safeguards (e.g., standard contractual clauses).

Data retention
We keep personal data only as long as needed for the purposes above or as required by law. For public Page post metadata used in our analytics (e.g., page/post IDs, timestamps, permalinks, minimal text needed to identify events), we retain it for no longer than 24 months unless a longer period is required for audit, quality assurance, or legal obligations; thereafter we delete or anonymize it.

Security
We use technical and organizational measures such as role-based access controls, encryption in transit, and audit logging. No method is 100% secure; we continually improve our safeguards.

Government requests
We perform a legal review of any request from public authorities, challenge unlawful or overbroad requests, and disclose only the minimum necessary information. We document requests and our responses, and—where permitted by law—notify affected individuals before disclosure.

Corrections & feedback for the public map
If you see inaccuracies in venue information or aggregated statistics, please contact info@missdata.org.mx and include the relevant venue and the source permalink. We will review and update as appropriate.

Your rights
Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict, object to processing, or request portability. To exercise rights, contact info@missdata.org.mx. We will verify your request and respond within applicable timelines.

Children’s privacy
Our services and research projects are not directed to children under 13 (or the relevant minimum age in your jurisdiction).

Cookies
We use essential cookies to run the site and, where enabled, analytics cookies to improve it. You can manage cookies via your browser or our site banner (if enabled).
